Today is a day of rafting, rest, relaxation … and some work. We’ll be going down the middle Yough’ today, the only section of river that Sam can raft. The other sections are more technical, and have a minimum age of 12 years old. We’ll have to come back! This map is from rafting … not riding bikes!

The GAP Trail
The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) rail-trail offers 141 miles of hiking and biking between Cumberland, MD, and Homestead, PA, near Pittsburgh. In Cumberland, the GAP joins the C&O Canal Towpath, creating a continuous trail experience, 325 miles long, to Washington, DC.
The Montour Trail is a multi-use non-motorized recreational rail-trail near Pittsburgh, PA that will ultimately extend 47 miles from Coraopolis to Clairton. Currently, multiple sections of the trail totaling over 40 miles are completed. New sections are being added each year. The Montour Trail connects to the Great Allegheny Passage via the Clairton Connector in McKeesport.
